Scott House Triumphs in Senior House Tennis
A moist Friday morning was the backdrop for this years’ Sixth Form Tennis, an event comprised of singles and doubles matches between all Houses. After initial confusion over the absence of an Elgar team and a chronic lack of balls, Mr. Pardy, aided only by a sharp whistle, beckoned the players together to explain how the event would unfold and to warn of the slipperiness underfoot. As the event entered its final stages, thin crowds gathered around the perimeter of courts, upon whose surface the decisive games would be won or lost. Spectators looked on, coffee in hand, accompanying the action with deep bellows as the ball ricocheted from end to end, before inevitably succumbing to the net.
With all games played and the points tallied, the final results were as follows:
- 1st place: Scott
- 2nd place: Darwin
- 3rd place: Newton
- 4th place: Turner
- 5th place: Elgar
