Winter Ball to be held in an igloo
The Bournemouthian has discovered that this year’s Winter Ball will be taking place inside an enormous inflatable igloo as opposed to the typical venue of Bournemouth Pavilion.
Describing the decision to change the venue as ‘inspired’ a student who requests anonymity praised the proposal for its uniqueness, adding that despite having avoided similar events in the past, he would ‘certainly be buying tickets’ for an evening’s entertainment inside the igloo.
Traditionalists need not worry either since it is believed the interior space of the air-filled hemisphere is far superior to any venue used previously and will comfortably house hundreds of pretentiously attired teenagers along with the compulsory myriad of alcoholic beverages they require to appear to have an interesting personality.
Another benefit cited by organisers is the ability to choose a preferred location for the igloo to be stationed. A bureaucrat remarked “The Pavilion was a strong contender, but when we considered the possibility of setting up the igloo anywhere that’s sufficiently flat and spacious, our choice was simple.” Value for money, ease of access and better sound quality owing to a more efficient ricocheting effect were given as further grounds for the relocation.
Tickets for the Winter Ball, which takes place on November 32nd, will be available for purchase shortly.
